FIRST TIME

I'm excited to start this blogging thing that I hear so much of from friends & co-workers. I have so much to say, however, my typing skills are not too great, so it takes me awhile to just type a simple paragraph. My goal is to write often & have something worthy of passing on each time.

I love to get feedback from those of you that get a chance to read my entries, so please respond & pass on helpful tips.

A few years ago I stumbled across a small book in my Mom's bookcase. It had an old picture on the front, and since I have always loved the look of an old picture, my curiosity was raised. I read the book & studied it's pictures. I couldn't believe this book had been in our possession for many years & I hadn't even known. This book was about ancestors of mine that I had never heard of. The last name of the family was Cowley. They had lived in Farmington Utah around the turn of the 20th century, & then headed to Wyoming. The family settled in Byron Wyoming where they lived in a tent. Times were tough, but they persevered & raised a large family. The stories were fascinating to me & I found myself wanting more.

My Dad came from Alabama & my Mom came from Washington State, so I always thought that my family had no ties to the pioneer heritage that is a part of our local community. I was wrong. I quickly found that my Mom's entire family line came from & through pioneer families. My thirst increased daily. I spent almost every waking moment trying to find more & more info about these ancestors of mine that I had never heard of. I found myself getting in too deep, too quick. I was jumping from one family line to another, and then on to another. I had to take a break.

After the short break, I slowly got back into searching for info. One thing I have found is that if you desire to learn more, doors open up. I still find myself jumping around, however, I continue to learn new things about my ancestors.

A desire I have is to reach out & learn about my ancestors & distant relatives. I hope that you will help with this desire of mine & contact me, so I can learn about you & your Family.
